Isaac was the second son of Abraham and his wife Sarah, both of the same bloodline. Isaac was the son of the covenant. The blessing promises of God were passed down from Abraham to Isaac passing over Abraham's 1st born, Ishmael the progenitor of the people known as Arabs.
A HEBREW person is an individual of a specific NATIONALITY or RACE OF people!

NOT A RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION!
I've found many definitions for the word. One definition of HEBREW that I've run across is: WANDERER! No doubt you'll find some as well.
But a religion it is NOT!
Isaac too was an Hebrew like his older brother Ishmael and their father Abraham.
But Isaac like his father Abraham, and Ishmael his brother, was NOT an Israelite!

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

So, the Lord caused all of this to occur. Even told them what to name the child!
We read that!
THE COVENANT WITH GOD WAS PAST DOWN THROUGH ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND WE'RE GOING TO READ HIS YOUNGER SON JACOB AND HIS CHILDREN.
Genesis 22: 1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, THINE ONLY SON Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
ONLY SON?

22: 11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. 12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine ONLY SON from me.
The Lord said it again!
Let's confirm this, because Abraham had many children.
Genesis 25: 5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6 But unto the son(s) of the concubine(s), which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
Sisters and brothers Isaac was the;
"SON OF THE COVENANT!"
The same COVENANT we read about in Genesis 17: 8.
The same covenant we all must enter into, to be acknowledged as the spiritual seed of Abraham's, and receive the ULTIMATE:
ETERNAL LIFE!
