The primary distinguishable physical characteristic mentioned even (reference by God) in the Bible, is their similarity with their captors, the ancient Assyrians (Ethiopians), and the ancient Egyptians.

Both of whom are the descendants of Ham. Folks known today as Africans.

Ethiopia is the English transliteration of the Greek word "Αιθιοπα" (or Aithiopia) which originates from the Greek word "Αιθιοψ" or "aithiops" which literally means "charred or burnt."
